The Roman Empire is one of the largest empires in history. The empire begin 900 BC and fall in 476 AD and many other empire were infused into the Roman Empire’s culture:

- Greek civilization :    art, innovations and ideas 

- Eastern and Egyptian

- Christians - changed the empire to monotheism

Renaissance - rebirth 

The period that brought Europe out of the Middle Ages/ The Dark Ages (1300 CE – 1600 CE) and renewed interest in things of this world: Education, Art, Literature, Science. During the Dark Ages, all power belong to the Church and people are forbidden to question their authority.

Humanism 

A system of thought that rejects religious beliefs and centers on humans and their values, capacities, and worth. The humanist are concern with the interests, needs, and welfare of humans. All thought and action are concerned with human interests and values. Education became a status symbol, people hired scholars to teach their children. Human form was revealed as a thing of beauty and the artists more interested in realism (nude human body, no longer an object of shame as in Middle Ages.)
